ST. CHRISTOPHER’S SCHOOL SHARED CASUAL DAY FRIDAY THE 4TH SEPTEMBER 2009, WITH SOME OF UNITED’S SUPER STARS AND THEIR PRESENCE REALLY LIFTED THEIR SPIRITS.

IT WAS AN EXCITING DAY FOR THE LEARNERS SHARING THIS DAY WITH THE UNITED PLAYING STAFF AND THEY THROUGHLY ENJOYED THEMSELVES.

UNITED’S BRAND MANAGER, YOUNUS KADODIA SAID, “THESE EXERCISES ARE VERY SPECIAL ON THE CLUBS AGENDA AND IT IS CRUCIAL THAT THIS FORM OF SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY IS WELL ADDRESSED. THESE ARE LEARNERS WITH PHYSICAL AND LEARNING DISABILITIES AND IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THE CLUB ASSIST THESE LEARNERS IN ANY WAY”, SAID KADODIA.

THE UNITED PLAYERS ALSO WENT OUT OF THEIR WAY BY SIGNING AUTOGRAPHS AND DISPLAYING BALL TRICKS TO THE LEARNERS. THEY ALSO SHOWED THEIR TOUCHES WITH THE BALL. JABULANI NCUBENI UNITED’S LEFT SIDED MIDFIELDER SAID HE WAS TOUCHED WITH THEIR WARMTH, ENERGY AND ENTHUSIASM AND HE THROUGHLY ENJOYED THE VISIT.

TARYN BUDREE OF ABSA BANK CHURCH STREET WHO TEAMED UP WITH UNITED FOR THE VISIT SAID SHE WAS ALSO PLEASED AND THANKED THE UNITED PLAYING STAFF FOR MAKING THEMSELVES AVAILABLE FOR THIS EXERCISE. “IT WAS REALLY A MEMORABLE DAY FOR THE LEARNERS AND IT IS THESE MOMENTS THAT REALLY COUNT”, SAID BUDREE.

A GRADE 6 STUDENT AT THE SCHOOL, MCKAYLE NAIDOO WAS THRILLED TO MEET THE PLAYERS AND WAS OVER THE MOON AS HER FAVORITE PLAYER, FADLU DAVIDS, HANDED OVER A MARITZBURG UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB TRACKSUIT AS A BIRTHDAY GIFT COURTESY OF THE CLUB. “THIS IS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE” SAID NAIDOO.
