United Partners Old Mutual In Greater Good “Do It Day” Initiatives

Maritzburg United partnered Cape Town based NGO Greater Good in their “Do It Day” initiative in the Midlands region on the 07 October 2009.
Two exercises were conducted at Nzamweni High and Kharina Secondary Schools.
“Old Mutual of the Drakensburg Area were also prominent in the materialization of these social responsibilities”, said brand manager, Younus Kaodia.
“Maritzburg United want to thank sales manager, Ranjin Bharath of Old Mutual for associating us with this initiative”, added Kadodia.
The initiative is a project piloted by the Greater Good, it encourages organizations to implement a community project.
The initiatives were led by United’s Head Coach, Gordon Igesund, his technical staff and players from the first team, conducting coaching sessions, motivational talks that included tips on performance and gave learners the opportunity to interact with them and get their autographs.
Both schools were also presented with soccer kits and balls by Old Mutual. The session for Nzamweni High School was held at Wadley Stadium in Edendale, while Kharina’s event was conducted at their school grounds in Northdale.
Ranjin Bharath was grateful for United’s contribution in these initiatives. They had choosen soccer clinics as their project for this year because soccer is a topical issue. He described the initiative as a huge success.
