Maritzburg United believe that tomorrow’s leaders are today’s children and recently embarked on a CSI project to give back to the local community and thank them for their unrelenting support.

Members of United’s first team visited the SOS children’s home and donated a set of goalposts and 15 soccer balls to the underprivileged community of France and the children of the Village.

The United players took time off their rigorous training schedule to host a coaching clinic for the youngsters who were thrilled to be able to grasp first hands knowledge from their favorite players.

Maritzburg United captain Fadlu David said that it was a humbling experience for him and the guys and they were touched by the humility of the youngsters.

The village director Nicole Thavarin had this to say when asked about the visit, “Yesterday was indeed an awesome experience, and we were truly humbled by the keen interest the management and players of Maritzburg United have displayed in our organization.

" We were also impressed by the enthusiasm demonstrated by the players, as for the children, the delight on their faces was rewarding enough, Thank you for making a difference in their precious lives.”
