The benefits of the Msunduzi Municipality partnership deal with Maritzburg United, will be enjoyed by the people of the City of Choice when Maritzburg United takes on Polokwane City at Harry Gwala Stadium on Wednesday night, the 13th of August 2014. Kickoff is set for 19h30.

Polokwane City will arrive in Maritzburg to meet a very confident Team of Choice after a convincing performance against Champions Mamelodi Sundowns in the season opener last Friday the 8th of August.

The Team of Choice played this game without seven of their players due to delays with the issuing of work permits, and the Sundowns policy which forbids players on loan from them being fielded against them.

“This put us at a very big disadvantage against the champions, but on the other hand, it meant we were kind of like a closed book to them and we were prepared to surprise them," said Brian Zuma, the Marketing and Communications Manager.

"Steve Komphela’s young stars who were given the responsibility to take on Sundowns, did a sterling Job. The 1-1 draw meant that The Team of Choice picked up from last season when they were the only team that was not beaten by Sundowns.

“We urge our supporters to come in their numbers, and show appreciation to the Municipality for keeping the Team in Maritzburg, and give the much needed urge to the boys. Let us intimidate the visitors,” concluded Zuma.

Komphela meanwhile is bracing his side for a tough examination against the Limpopo side.

"Polokwane City will be very high in confidence too after beating Tuks 2-0 in their opening game. We watched them against Tuks. They attack and defend well. But they are particularly aggressive when they attack”, said the Head Coach.

"We have a plan for them, and we will take advantage of the fact that we are playing at home," he added.
