MARITZBURG UNITED SUPPORTERS STREET PARADE
15 September 2014

Maritzburg United supporters took to the streets last Saturday ahead of the home game against Mpumalanga Black Aces at Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday.

This was mobilisation drive for people to support the Team of Choice by attending home games, and it was also creating awareness and the buzz to draw people’s attention to home matches. The parade was about 2km long, led by the MUFC brass band, and ended at the stadium.

Match tickets, replica jerseys, caps and “ makarabhas” were given away to the excited public who also joined the parade and danced to the music by the brass band. As the parade proceeded in the City, cars hooted and a carnival atmosphere was created in the streets.

“This is a wonderful excersize, taking the brand to the people so that they identify with the club. Next time it will be bigger and better”, said MUFC Communications Manager, Brian Zuma, who also participated in the parade.
