MAMELODI SUNDOWNS COME TO HARRY GWALA
15 December 2014

Tomorrow will be the first time Mamelodi Sundowns visit Maritzburg United since receiving their ABSA PSL Championship trophy for the 2013/14 season at the Harry Gwala Stadium.

The Brazillians will come here with vivid memories of how their League celebrations were almost spoilt until they scored a last minute equaliser to draw that game 1-1.

Sundowns came here having already won the championship, but victory for them was very important on the day as the trophy was going to be handed over to them, but it was not to be.

They were playing against the only team they had not collected maximum points from in the entire season, and Maritzburg United was aiming for full points in what was a highly entertaining contest to conclude the 2013/2014 season.

The encounter between the two outfits is always a tricky one. The opening game for the season 2014/15, was once again between the two clubs, and again the outcome was a 1-1 draw at Loftus Versveld Stadium in Pretoria.

Sundowns currently sit in 3rd position on the Log with 25 points while the Team of Choice are 06th with 22 Points after the 1st round of Fixtures. “Our boys have proven to play with big hearts this season and have displayed some scintillating football both home and away this season," said Brian Zuma, Marketing and Communications Manager.

“While we haven’t got the desired results at home of late, I have no doubt that we will come out with guns blazing and give our fans a perfect festive gift,” Zuma concluded.

Tickets are available at R60 for adults and R20 for children at the following outlets;

MUFC Offices at 397 Victoria Rd,
Supersave,
Mini OK on College Rd,
Tourism Hub next to City Hall.

Season ticket holders are reminded that this being a Category A game( which includes Chiefs and Pirates), the ticket is not applicable, as it is for the other twelve games. You will have to purchase the ticket for the Sundowns game.

Kick off is at 20h00
