Maritzburg United Chairman Farook Kadodia is expecting the club to build and improve on the solid start they have made to the season.

Compliments of the new season to all our partners, sponsors and fans. I know that we are all looking forward to the resumption of the league, although we have to wait for another month due to AFCON.

We are hoping that Bafana Bafana will make the country proud in that prestigious African Tournament.

The league so far has been very competitive. You can see that with the way the clubs are bunched up in terms of points, at the top, in the middle and at the bottom.

The team opened the season very well. We wanted to play attractive football and bring results at the same time. The Coach achieved that. This helps a great deal in marketing the brand. Unfortunately though, we lost important points in the last five games at Harry Gwala. We could have finished on the top four at break.

From February when the league resumes, all teams will be faced with challenging thirteen games. The first three games will be very critical to get points for us to be able to achieve the target.

I am happy for Mondli Cele and Kwanda Mngonyama, their call up to the national team will serve as an inspiration to their team mates. We should produce more national team players.

The overwhelming support averaging at 6000 people in our home games is much appreciated. The building process has to continue and we will attract more supporters. If we get results at Harry Gwala, marketing will ensure that we see an improvement on the stands and hopefully attract more partners and sponsors.

I am confident that we will achieve our top eight target which has eluded us over the seasons. Compliments to Msunduzi Municipality for their support and crucial investment in the club. I am sure we are seeing fruits of their investment for both parties.

The involvement of Hulamin with our development side, is also an important investment for us to produce young players. We struggled with the budget for development before, and we hope there will be other negotiations for further investment.

I wish you all a Happy and successful new year. Keep supporting the Team of Choice.
