Maritzburg United 0-0 Free State Stars
28 February 2015

The Team of Choice could find no way past Free State Stars and had to settle for a 0-0 draw at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday night.

Maritzburg had the early chances, but Thamsanqa Mkhize shot wide of goal on 15 minutes, before Mohammed Anas missed the target with his header.

Ea Lla Koto were to have chances of their own, but Moeketsi Sekola fired wide and then Camaldine Abraw struck the side-netting before
Virgil Vries saved from Danny Venter as the game neared half time.

Vries was at it again after the restart, twice denying Abraw.

Maritzburg were to come closest to scoring when Terrance Mandaza hot the bar before Anas had his follow up effort ruled out for off-sides.

The KZN side were again unlucky to be denied a goal when Kurt Lentjie’s late effort was ruled to have been cleared off the line.
