Lentjies hopeful of breaking winless streak
10 March 2015

Maritzburg United midfielder Kurt Lentjies hopes to help the Team of Choice upset league leaders Kaizer Chiefs at the Harry Gwala Stadium.

The Team of Choice go into the game in 10th position on the Absa Premiership table, while AmaKhosi are in top spot, having only lost once in 22 league games this term.

Lentjies admits United’s poor form of late is a cause for concern, but is optimistic that the team are still playing good football and can grind out a result against Chiefs.

“The early points helped, but right now we are in the middle of a drought. Earlier in the season we were getting the results, but now we have gone nine games without a win, and that is a worry," he said.

“We badly need a win to lift the players. It’s not that we have been playing badly, at times we have been playing some amazing football. We just haven’t been converting our chances into goals, and we luck has not been on our side.

"That said, you make your own luck, and we have to go out with a positive attitude and take the game to them. “Hopefully we can turn things around against Chiefs. We’ll all be very much up for this one, and Chiefs do not have the best record at the Harry Gwala Stadium."
