Maritzburg United 0-1 SuperSport United
4 April 2015

It was not to be Maritzburg United’s afternoon as they spurned a series of scoring chances to go down 1-0 to SuperSport United.

Neither side had many chances in the opening 20 minutes with the first opportunity falling to David Mathebula on 26 minutes, but his low drive went just wide of Virgil Vries' right-hand post.

SuperSport were in front on 38 minutes when Kingston Nkhatha picked out Jeremy Brockie to tap in from close range.

United looked to reply, but Abel Mabaso and Ryan De Jongh were unable to make their chances from just outside the box count.

Maritzburg continued to attack after the break and Deolin Mekoa went close to finding the equaliser but his volley failed to beat to trouble Ronwen Williams.

Maritzburg had more chances as Mondli Cele forced Williams into a top save before Kwanda Mngonyama directed his header attempt straight at the United keeper, who then went on to deny Mohau Mokate as well.

Mohammed Anas missed several late chances as the Team of Choice dropped out of the top eight.
