Bloemfontein Celtic 0-1 Maritzburg United
19 April 2015

Kurt Lentjies scored against his former club as Maritzburg United returned to winning ways with a 1-0 victory away to Bloemfontein Celtic.

The result leaves United in eighth spot on the Absa Premiership standings.

Celtic had just inflicted a 5-0 victory over Mamelodi Sundowns, but United were on top at the Kaizer Sebothelo Stadium after seven minutes when Deolin Mekoa’s free kick picked out Lentjies for a tap in.

The hosts had chances in the first half to equalize, but Keagan Ritchie’s header was saved by Virgil Vries and then Keagan Buchanan fired a shot over the crossbar.

The Team of Choice had more defending in the second half to do as Phunya Sele Sele pushed hard for the equalizer.

There was a late chance for Lerato Lamola to score, but Vries again made the save – other than that Maritzburg were for the most part able to keep Celtic at bay.
