Kadodia: We are capable of a top eight finish
20 April 2015
Club Chairman Farook Kadodia assesses the season as the Team of Choice head into their final four games of the 2014/ 2015 campaign.
“I believe we have generally had a much better season so far, compared to the previous seasons, despite the results drought that we experienced for about nine games without a win.
Beating Kaizer Chiefs at home to turn things around, was the highlight for this season considering that we are one of only two teams that have managed to beat them this season so far.
Beating Platinum Stars after that, put us in a position of strength, but then we lost again two successive matches against Supersport United and Mpumalanga Aces.
Victory against Bloemfontein Celtic has put us back in the challenge for the Top Eight. We need a good run in the last four games as the difference in points between clubs is very narrow. We have players with the ability to give us the top eight. We are left with two games at home which is Ajax and Pirates, but effectively it is three games if we include Amazulu whom we will play in Durban.
We need to target these games for maximum points. We have to find ideas to derive the nine points in KZN. 40 to 1 points should be enough to secure us the top eight, this is within reach.
We appeal to our fans to rally behind the team, especially in the remaining KZN games, that they come in their numbers and support the boys.
I recently had a chat with one journalist, and expressed that we have to finish in the top eight this season, otherwise why are we in the PSL?
Unfortunately this was misconstrued to mean that if we do not make it in the top eight, we will sell the club. There is definitely no such plan. We have a very broad vision for the club for many years to come."
