No ease up to tough start for United
27 September 2015
It was unhappy afternoon in Mpumalanga for Maritzburg United as they went down 4-1 to Black Aces in an Absa Premiership clash on Sunday.
After a slow start to the game on a hot afternoon at the Kanyamazane near Nelspruit, it was Maritzburg who took the lead in the 30th minute through an Ashley Hartog goal.
But two goals in five minutes before the break; from former Maritzburg winger Bongolwethu Jayiya and Collins Mbesuma, saw Aces wrestling back the initiative.
The lead was extended 15 minutes after the restart when Mbesuma scored from the penalty spot before Denis Masina rubbed salt into the Team of Choice’s wounds with a late goal.
Maritzburg are next in action when they take on Jomo Cosmos in the Telkom Knockout, Friday 2 October 2015, at the Harry Gwala Stadium.
