Maritzburg United 2-3 Polokwane City
3 November 2015

There was late heartbreak for Maritzburg United at the Harry Gwala Stadium as Polokwane City scored two late goals to steal all three points from the Absa Premiership encounter.

United started the game with real bang, as they drew first blood within two minutes of kick off when Mohammed Anas converted from an Evans Rusike cross.

But Rise and Shine were to equalize in the 11th minute through Thobani Mncwango.

Maritzburg keeper Tawfeeq Salie preserved parity on 34 minutes with an acrobatic save to keep out Jabu Maluleke.

Midway through the second stanza, Kurt Lentjies had a good chance, but his shot kept rising over the crossbar.

With just seven minutes to play, it seemed as if United were on course for the win when Lentjies scored with a close range effort from Mondli Cele’s cross.

But the Limpopo side were to level the game at 2-2 in the 86 th minute when Maluleke fired in a free kick.

The win was sealed in added time when Puleng Tloane pounced to score after a slip up in the Team of Choice defence.

Starting XI: Salie, Mngonyama, Onyango, Zulu, Teyise, De Jongh, Banda, Lentjies, Anas, Rusike, Nene
