Maritzburg continue fine form in Diski league
11 November 2015

The Team of Choice Reserve side have been doing the club proud in the Multichoice Diski Challenge, three wins in their last four games seeing the team in fourth position.

Maritzburg are also the second highest scoring side in the MDC, with 18 goals scored in their eight matches.

Five of those goals came on the weekend, as the United Reserve side thrashed Black Aces 5-0 at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday.

Ryan Moon netted the opening goal after just 12 minutes, United continuing to dominate before Mohau Mokate netted on 24 minutes.

Eight minutes Mokate scored again as the Team of Choice took a 3-0 lead into the break.

Menzi Chili made it 4-0 on 65 minutes, before Mokate completed his hat-trick in the 90th minute.

The goal was Chili’s fifth of the season, with only Sibusiso Sibeko of Golden Arrows and Siphesihle Nzimande (Polokwane City), who both have six goals, above him on the scoring list.

The Aces win followed on from a victory in United’s previous match, a 1-0 home win against SuperSport United, Happy Mashau getting the only goal of the game on the hour mark.

In matches prior to that, Ryan Moon scored in a 2-1 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns, while Chili and Moon were on target in a 2-0 win away to Jomo Cosmos on October 17.
