Match stats: SuperSport v Maritzburg

Maritzburg United will be hoping to build on what was a relatively promising end to 2016 when they take on SuperSport United in Pretoria on Sunday afternoon.
The Team of Choice ended 2015 with five points from three games – a win and two draws, and will now be looking for a positive result in what will be head coach Ernst Middendorp’s first match in charge since returning to the club for a third spell.
SuperSport meanwhile have gone five games without defeat, and ended the year with a 2-0 win over the University of Pretoria.
Matsatsantsa are currently occupying eighth place on the Absa Premiership log with 16 points from 12 matches, while the Team of Choice are 16th, with six points from 12 matches, five shy of safety.
The two clubs have met on 18 previous occasions in the league, with SuperSport having nine wins to United’s two, while seven encounters have been drawn.

Since recording a 7-0 win over the Team of Choice in 2011/12, SuperSport have managed just four goals in seven league matches against PMB outfit.
