Victory against Lamontville Golden Arrows is exactly what the doctor ordered for the Team of Choice.

At the Media Open Day in midweek, Head Coach Ernst Middendorp had said that we needed to close the gap in the mini league that included MUFC, Tuks and Cosmos.

The victory could not have been sweeter having been achieved in a derby between the only two KZN teams in the PSL this season. This was an important and first home victory of the season and we are happy with the determination, hunger, courage and commitment that was demonstrated by our players that Friday night.

A lot still has to be done, and we will focus on one game at a time. We are in the last 16 of the Nedbank Cup, which we value a lot, but we are fighting for our lives to survive in the PSL.

Therefore our next assignment against Chippa United is critical on two fronts, firstly that we put pressure on Tuks and Cosmos by winning our games, and two, a win against Chippa will put us in a very positive frame of mind for the game against Tuks at home on the 9th of April 2016. We will treat that game as a final because we can’t rely on other teams to do business for us, we must do it ourselves.

We also need to give our fans another home victory for being so supportive and good to us. Through thick and thin our fans have been behind us, we therefore have a responsibility to pay them back.
