Maritzburg are United in one common goal, to take three points from their final match of the season, says captain Kurt Lentjies.
The Team of Choice end their 2015/16 Absa Premiership campaign when they take on Jomo Cosmos at Olen Park on Saturday, 21 May, 15H00.
United go into the game with their morale boosted by a 1-0 win over Ajax CT, a result which moved Ernst Middendorp's side two points above 16th placed AmaTuks, and one point behind Cosmos.
Maritzburg showed character against the Urban Warriors as they fought all the way to the end of the game before finally getting the breakthrough they deserved, when Thamsanqa Mkhize scored with a free kick in the 85th minute.
"It doesn't matter how you get it," Lentjies said after the match, "as long as you get the three points. It wasn't about the performance, it was about the guys uniting, working towards one goal which was the three points.
"You can see we will fight till the end. The next game is against Jomo Cosmos, which is another vital one, so hopefully we can get the three points."
Lentjies has been an inspiration to his side this season, the hard-grafting and skillful midfielder playmaker chipping in with five league goals.
"I managed to fight for the guys, just to grind, because we all need each other. I just tried to play my part, that is all.
"We missed quite a few chances, especially from set-pieces. Even myself, I squandered a good chance in the box. But I mean the guys were just motivating me to carry on.
"We had one chance, a beautiful free-kick from Thami, his first goal in the PSL, so that's great for us," he added.
