LOOKING FORWARD TO A COMPETITIVE SEASON
22 August 2016

Maritzburg United chairman Farook Kadodia is optimistic that a successful and exciting season lies ahead for the Team of Choice.

“On Wednesday, we kick off the season with a visit to Bloemfontein where we will be up against Celtic at Dr. Molemela Stadium.

“We all know that an assignment in Celtic’s backyard is always a tough one, with the type of support they enjoy there. But the fact is that with the miserable 2015/16 season we had, it was against Phunya Sele Sele that we claimed full points among other teams that we managed to beat on the road.

“We have had a very good pre-season and we are fully prepared. We invested well in players if you look at whom we brought in. We believe we’ve got depth in the squad to make a better account of ourselves. We cannot afford a repeat of last season. We are expecting to get the desired results in this season’s campaign. We know what we are capable of, we are looking forward to a competitive season.

“The support we had from our supporters gave us the energy to soldier on until the last game of last season. They played a critical role in our survival. Harry Gwala Stadium is our fortress where we’re going to make sure our supporters are happy. We therefore appeal for even stronger support this season.”
