SANOKA: WE WANT TO BRING THE HAPPINESS AGAIN

Maritzburg United are determined to get back amongst the goals and to pick up maximum points when they tackle
Free State Stars on Friday, says defender Pogiso Sanoka.

The Absa Premiership match against Ea Lla Koto is set to take place at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Friday evening, 8pm kick off.
The Team of Choice head into the game having had a slight breather after last week’s heavy schedule saw them playing both Orlando

Pirates (0-0) and Kaizer Chiefs (0-2) at home. Despite taking only a point, United played some exciting football, which they’ll be determined to turn into points against Stars.

“The two previous games we never scored, and especially playing at home that was disappointing. But the coach has been working hard with us this week, and each individual player is also working hard to improve his game,” said Sanoka.

“So we are all moving in the same direction, whereby we want to bring in that happiness again by getting a good result. We take each game as it comes. We forget about the past games we have played, and are focused only on Friday’s game. The mood in the camp is great and everyone is looking forward to the match,” added the 25-year-old.

“Stars are an aggressive side, they play different football to other teams. They are not one of these teams playing quick transition football. We have watched them play so we know what to expect, and what is expected of us,” he explained.

Sanoka has excelled at right-back for our club this season, playing in five league and two cup matches, and his is enjoying the camaraderie amongst his fellow defenders.

“There’s lots of experienced guys there, the likes of Bevan, Siya and Danso. I think we're all learning from each other. The communication has been important both on the field of play and off it. I think so far so good because we didn’t concede many goals this season and the errors have been minimal. We understand each other well and that's what's helping the team at the moment.”
