Maritzburg United came away with a point from their trip to Port Elizabeth following a 0-0 draw with
Chippa United at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Wednesday night.

The home side had the first chance of the game, but Lerato Manzini and Mark Mayambela both failed to hit the target.

Maritzburg keeper Richard Ofori was called into action on the half hour mark when he kept out Kurt Lentjies' shot from outside the box.

Mayambela came close to scoring eight minutes into the second half when after hit a free-kick into the woodwork.

Maritzburg began to find some rhythm to their play, but for the most part failed to find penetration up front.

The Chilli Boys were again denied by the bar when Samuel Julies' shot from inside the box in the 80th minute hit the post.

There was an injury time chance for the Team of Choice through Sheldon van Wyk, but Chippa stopper Daniel Akpeyi made the block.
