MARITZBURG BEAT CHIPPA TO TOP MDC TABLE

Maritzburg United put four goals past Chippa United with no reply in their MultiChoice
Diski Challenge (MDC) clash at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday.

The win took the Team of Choice's Reserve side to 14 points from six matches - one point above Bloemfontein Celtic and Golden Arrows.

It was coach Siya Mdluli side's fourth win of the campaign, the team still unbeaten as the other two matches ended in draws.

The victory over the Chilli Boys on Saturday was inspired by a brace each from Mohau Mokate and Luyanda Ntshangase.

It was the first match Maritzburg's Reserves have been involved in since midfielder Mlondi Dlamini was so tragically killed in a car crash two weeks ago, the result a fitting tribute to the players' fallen comrade.

United’s Reserves are next in action on Sunday November 12 when they host Platinum Stars' MDC side.
