UNITED CLAIM A POINT IN THE LIMPOPO

Maritzburg United picked up a valuable point on the road with a 0-0 draw away to Polokwane City
at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday night.

Maritzburg had some decent first half chances and George Chigova in goal for Rise and Shine made saves from Deolin Mekoa and Mxolisi Kunene.

Evans Rusike was also close to sliding in a cross from Kunene in the 39th minute as the Team of Choice ended the half with intent.

Polokwane had a chance after the break on the hour mark, Ofori was on hand to make a superb block.

The final 15 minutes saw both sides upping the ante in search of a much-needed three points. The hosts came close on a couple of occasions late on to scoring as United held on for the point.
