Ahead of Saturday’s Nedbank Cup final against Free State Stars, the Team of Choice contingent engaged in a whirlwind tour of the Mother City, which included a jersey handover at the Cape Town City Hall, an autograph signing session at the Civic Centre, a visit to the Cape Town Stadium, Signal Hill, and a coaching clinic at local amateur side FC Kapstadt.

“We want the Cape fans to rally behind our team,” the Chairman said. “We have a rich history as a club, we are one of the old Federation clubs still around.

“We have Capetonians like the coach (Davids) and the captain (Fransman) in the squad. This is an historic visit for us and we want to market ourselves to the people of the Cape.

“In addition, we have 12 buses travelling down from Maritzburg and many other [supporters] flying down to the Cape to support the team.”
