DISKI BOYS SET FOR PIRATES TEST

Maritzburg United's Multi-choice Diski Challenge team have a chance to kick-start their campaign against Orlando Pirates this Saturday.

The reserves went down 2-1 to Bidvest Wits two weeks ago after leading at the break in Johannesburg.

Coach Siya Mdluli’s would have seen plenty of positives from that result and knows that a win on the road, could set in motion an upswing in results.

They are currently rooted to the bottom of the spot, but are level on points with Pirates who are 15th.

Promising young striker, Bongokuhle Hlongwane believes the team is close to turning the corner.

”We are preparing well for Orlando do Pirates, we know that we need our first victory of the season and are working hard to achieve that,” Hlongwane said.

“The team is working hard under coach Siya. We believe that the first win is coming,” he added.

The 18 year-old who joined from local amateur club, Nxamalala, dreams of playing top flight football in the near future.

“I've been training with the first team. I think it's possible to play in the PSL this season. I can do it, I know and believe this,” Hlongwane said.

The match takes place at the Orlando Stadium, Kick-off is at 12:00 on Saturday.
