UNITED AIM TO BUILD ON FIRST MDC WIN - ZINDOGA

Young Maritzburg United attacker Junior Zindoga believes their maiden win of the MultiChoice Diski Challenge (MDC) is a significant moment for the team.

The Team of Choice reserves claimed their first win of the season when they thrashed Black Leopards 6-1 on Saturday morning.
Goals from Tholang Masegela and Zindoga had given the home side a 2-1 half-time lead - Muthu Liswoga halving the deficit late in the opening half.

After the break, United found the back off the net four more times through Denwin Farmer, Siphesihle Ndlovu and an Andrea Fileccia brace to kill off the Lidoda Duvha challenge.

The win for the MDC outfit was their first of the campaign and saw them lift themselves off the bottom of the table, leapfrogging their opponents by two points.

Zimbabwean Zindoga notched up his first goal for the club and explained just how vital the win was for the mood inside the dressing room.

"It's a big boost for our team spirit," he said. "It means a lot to the team. Obviously we want to progress now and move up the table. "

Siya Mdluli's team will now travel to Johannesburg to face Kaizer Chiefs who, lost 1-0 to Orlando Pirates in the MDC Soweto derby this past weekend.

"Kaizer Chiefs are a good team, from their development they like to pass the ball just like us so we won't change for them," Zindoga added. "So it's just like how we go into any other game. We just need to work hard and work as a team."

A win for Mdluli's team can bring them to within two points of their hosts Amakhosi.
