Central defender Brian Onyango gave the home side the lead in the 38th minute with a glancing header from a Deolin Mekoa set piece, but they were pegged back a minute before the break when Karabo Tshepe converted from the spot.
The draw is United’s fourth in a row and eighth overall this season.
“We threw the points away," coach Fadlu said. "We can’t concede a penalty a minute before halftime.
"It was really good from the guys going one nil ahead but it was naive to give the penalty away, it was naive not to have the full concentration to get the three points tonight.
"We have to bounce back, we have a game on Saturday. We have to recover, the players have to get their thinking ready for the game against Supersport right now.”
Coach Fadlu admitted that his team are finding it difficult to score goals and says that they need to show maturity if they are to turn the corner against SuperSport United in three days time.
He added: “We are doing everything right but putting the ball in the back of the net. That’s what we have got to work on.
"We have to be more clinical, more aggressive in front of goal. Let’s hope we can correct it against SuperSport.
“We need to go there and try to get the three points. That’s what we need, that’s what we require. Three draws in a row is not good enough.
"We need to get better, we need to grow up. You can’t be taking about young players all the time. These young players have got to grow up and trust themselves.”
The Team of Choice will travel to face Matsastantsa this Saturday. Kick-off at the Mbombela Stadium is at 18h00.
