UNITED HOPE TO HAVE ZAKRI BACK IN ACTION ASAP

Maritzburg United Chairman Farook Kadodia is optimistic that Ivorian forward Yannick Zakri will soon be back on the field for the Team of Choice.

Zakri returned late from the Christmas break, which led to much media speculation over his future in Pietermaritzburg.

However, there had been extenuating circumstances behind the striker's late arrival which the club has taken into account.

"As an asset of Maritzburg United, we have welcomed Yannick back to the team and he will be put through the normal conditioning tests to ensure his fitness," said the Chairman.

"The club will deal internally with regards the player's late arrival. We do not believe that there has been a disciplinary problem but rather complications regarding the player's travel arrangements. We will meet as soon as possible, and assuming the player is fit, we expect to soon see him contending for a place in the match-day squad."
