The 34-year-old was recently appointed to work under new coach Eric Tinkler after working together at Chippa United.
Kobola is a former defender and has vast experience of playing in the Premier Soccer League. He says he is looking forward to working at the Harry Gwala Stadium.
"So far the guys have welcomed me really well," coach Vincent stated. "It's a very good team, the setup is great here. I'm very happy to be here.
"I worked with coach Eric Tinkler at Cape Town City and Chippa United and it is great to link up with him again. He told me that I must come and help the team fight relegation and I want to do just that, we will work hard together,"
The former Chilli Boys deputy understands the gravity of the situation that Tinkler and himself find themselves in and is calling on the senior members of the squad to pick their heads up and save their club.
He said: "I don't want to lie, obviously we are in a very difficult situation but with this team and the quality that they have it is possible. We need to try and motivate these players and make sure they know how good they are. It is going to be tough, every game is a final for us."
The arrival of the new coaching duo also coincided with United bringing in several reinforcements like Thabiso Kutumela, Judas Moseamedi and Miguel Timm, And Kobola believes there is sufficient quality at Maritzburg for the club to stay up.
"For me, the squad looks great," he added. "The quality is there. For us now in the situation we are in we have to go with the experienced guys and the ones who are going to fight for the team."
Kobola and Tinkler will both be coming up against their former team Cape Town City next having played and managed there respectively so they will know them well. The game is on Saturday, February 23. Kick-off at the Cape Town Stadium is at 15h30.
