The Absa Premiership fixture against the Lions of the North is the Team of Choice’s first home game of the new season and kicks off at 8pm at the Harry Gwala Stadium.
In South Africa, Women’s Day is celebrated on 9 August and commemorates the 1956 march of approximately 20,000 women to the Union Buildings in Pretoria to petition against the pass laws of the apartheid era.
It’s also an opportunity to show our gratitude for the support, nurturing and the often selfless role Women play in all of our everyday lives.
“Maritzburg United are delighted to have this opportunity to be able to say a big thank you to all the Women supporters of the club by giving free entry on Friday night,” said Chief Executive Officer Younus Kadodia.
“The club readily acknowledges and is thankful for the fantastic supporter base we enjoy in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, and a large component of those fans are female, as we see in the stands whenever we play at the Harry Gwala Stadium.
“Your loyal support over the years has been greatly appreciated and has assisted in fostering a family-friendly environment within the club.
“A big thank you to all the Women – for your support of this club and for what they do for us every day. We hope you take us up on this unique offering and join us on Friday for this crucial first home game of the new season against Highlands Park.”
Tickets can be collected from the Maritzburg United offices on Wednesday and Thursday.
The address is 397 Victoria Road, Pietermaritzburg, and for any inquiries please call 033 345 5666 or email us on firstname.lastname@example.org.
We hope to see all the mothers, daughters, sisters, grandmothers and aunts of the PMB region out in full force on Friday evening at the Harry Gwala Stadium!
