Chairman praises Komphela’s man-management

20 May 2015

Maritzburg United Chairman Farook Kadodia has praised the contribution made by head coach Steve Komphela this season.

Komphela guided the Team of Choice to their first ever top eight finish in the league, and overall made a highly positive impact during the 2014/ 2015 campaign.

Kadodia acknowledged Komphela’s achievements, also pointing out that the club have a young squad which bodes well for the future.

"Firstly, the coach assembled a good team with a balance of youth and experience," said Kadodia.

"Previously, we had players on the old-age side and we have assembled the team now. John Paintsil and Shu-Aib Walters are the only two players who are over 30 years and that means success.

"We know with Steve he is a man-manager - he can get the best of players and in that regard he did very well."

Maritzburg United completed their highest ever finish in the Absa Premiership, ending the season in eighth spot after beating AmaZulu 2-1 on Saturday.
