Maritzburg United

6 December 2016

Maritzburg will be seeking their first elusive victory at home this season when they host Orlando Pirates at Harry Gwala Stadium next Tuesday the 13th of December 2016.

The Team of Choice will be going into this game at the back of a very important win against Baroka FC in Polokwane last Sunday. This was the fourth game for Fadlu Davids, the stand-in coach in charge after having had to take charge for the two games in Cape Town when departed Coach Ernst Middendorp was on the stands serving a red card suspension.

In four games under Davids, MUFC has won two, drawn one and lost one, a good record thus far.

The coach was very impressed with the fighting spirit his charges displayed in the scorching sun at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium against Baroka.

"Credit to the players, they fought very hard under difficult circumstances. They showed a lot of fighting spirit," said Davids.

“But that’s in the past now. We are starting afresh against Pirates. The first victory at home is on everybody’s mind, but we are careful not to put ourselves under pressure," he cautioned.

Tickets are available at Computicket for R60, as well as at Supersave, OK Mini market in College Rd and the Club Offices on 397 Victoria rd.

“The club is running a promotion where if you buy two tickets to the Orlando Pirates game, you get ONE FREE ticket to the WITS game on the 20TH of December,” commented Marketing and Communications Manager, Brian Zuma.

Kick off is at 19h30.
