17 March 2017

Maritzburg United return to league action this weekend when they clash with Highlands Park at the Makhulong Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The match in Tembisa kicks off at 15H30.

This will be only the second time the two clubs are meeting – in the previous encounter at the Harry Gwala Stadium in November, the Lions of the North hit back with a goal from Edwin Sitayitayi to secure a 1-1 draw after Devon Saal had put the hosts ahead.

The Team of Choice approach Sunday’s match in tenth position on the standings with 23 points from 20 matches, while Gordon Igesund’s Highlands Park are 15th, with 17 points from their 20 games.

Roger De Sa’s Maritzburg have won one, drawn one and lost three of their last five league encounters, while the Lions of the North have exactly the same record.

United will be without the suspended Lebo Maboe for this game.
