Reserves face PLK City in final Diski Challenge match
24 October 2014

The Maritzburg United Reserve League side play their final game of their Group A campaign when they clash with Polokwane City on Saturday at the Noordelikes Rugby Club (12pm kick off)
.

The Team of Choice are unable to qualify for the next round, the quarterfinals, but have done well to collect five points from their last three games, following a 2-1 win over Ajax, a 1-1 draw with on-form Celtic, and a 1-1 draw with Moroka Swallows in their most recent match.

"We tried our best against Swallows, we gave a chance to few other youngsters and they did well. Swallows, on the day, were not bad. They've improved since the 8-0 they suffered against Celtic. They are on the rise," Reserve Team assistant coach Robbie Cupido told the SuperSport website

"I think in terms of consistency, in the last three matches Swallows and us have been doing well in the competition. The experience that the players gained from the Diski Challenge will go a long way. They will take it to the other competitions that we will be taking part on.

"This tournament is the best thing to happen to SA football. The first teams are able to give fringe players a competition run, and players coming from injuries. It boils well for our football," he concluded.
