UNITED HELD TO A DRAW


Maritzburg United’s academy team were held to a goal less draw against Sobantu Lions F.C. by a rampant United side that were denied victory by superb goal keeping and the woodwork. This Castle League fixture was played in Sobantu on Heritage Day.

For the United team Jabulani “JB” Ncubeni was brilliant on the day and it was unfortunate he did not get his name on the score sheet. Biyase in the United goal, had a lazy afternoon only being called upon to make one save, otherwise it was a United show in their back yard.

Other United players that excelled were Ayanda “Jukes” Ndlovu in the “engine room”, Andile Gabisa at right back and the hard working Sabelo Phakathi up front.

United take on Commanies F.C. on Sunday the 28th September 2008 at the Dare Osborne Fields, kick –off is at 15H00. This is a rescheduled fixture that was rained off on the 20th September 2008.
