MOHAMMED AWAL CALLED FOR BLACK STARS DUTY

21 August 2014

Maritzburg United’s reliable central defender, Mohammed Awal, has been called for National Duty by the Ghana Football Association.

The Black Stars will be playing against Uganda on the 5th of September, and against Togo on the 10th of September 2014. He is expected to join his team-mates on Monday the 1st of September.

The big 26 year old centre back already has two caps under the belt playing for his national side.

Awal has acquitted himself very well since joining the Team of Choice, showing himself to be a dependable centre-back.

He proved that during the opening game of the season two weeks ago against Champions Mamelodi Sundowns, when he stepped to the fore to score from the penalty spot and got a late equaliser for the club, securing a valuable point away from home.

Mohammed is a hard worker and very focussed, small wonder he has received this national call up again. We wish him and his team well with the upcoming fixtures.
