RITCHIE CALLS FOR 'FIGHT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE' VS SEKHUKHUNE
5 March, 2022

Maritzburg United will be striving for consistency when they travel to Johannesburg to face Sekhukhune United in a DStv Premiership encounter on Wednesday evening at the Emirates Airline Park.

The match will be live on SuperSport PSL TV (Channel 202).

The Team of Choice will head to this fixture highly motivated following a 2-1 massive victory against the defending league champions, Mamelodi Sundowns at the Harry Gwala Stadium.

The versatile Keagan Ritchie has informed the Maritzburg United website that the victory against the log leaders was a morale booster in the camp.

"The preparations are going very well. We are confident coming from a victory against Sundowns. It was a big one for us," an excited Ritchie detailed.

The Team of Choice are currently occupying 12th place on the log with 21  points after 21 league outings.

"We are still there under pressure but the win against Sundowns released a bit of pressure.  The guys are preparing very well and the mood in the camp is very good and we are just ready to go and try to get the three points." Ritchie elaborated.

Sekhukhune United is in 9th place with 28 points from 21 league matches.

"I think for now we can't be too pretty. We've got to win games ugly. Sometimes if the football doesn't go well, you just need to put the work in and fight as much as you can until the last minute. Hopefully, we'll come out victorious." he added.

In the first round, Sekhukhune got the better of Maritzburg United by 2-0 at the Harry Gwala Stadium. Ritchie has emphasized the importance of turning chances into goals.

"We do create a lot of chances but all we need now is to convert them," he concluded.
