Maritzburg United can confirm that we have parted ways with assistant coach Vincent Kobola by mutual consent.
The 35-year-old arrived in Pietermaritzburg in January 2019 and was subsequently involved in 54 matches.
A few months later Kobola played his part in helping United avoid relegation after the team staged a late fight-back at the end of the 2018/ 19 season and managed to escape via the play-offs.
He will depart the club after having assisted in a top eight finish last season. During his time with United, the team also reached the final of the Telkom Knockout and have regularly had players called up to the Bafana Bafana squad.
Maritzburg United Chairman Farook Kadodia paid tribute to Kobola's efforts.
"Vincent played a crucial role in our club's history in the nearly two years he spent with us and we will always be grateful for his contribution," Kadodia said.
"After recent discussions with him, both parties agreed to part ways by mutual consent. We would like to sincerely thank Vincent for his service to the club. His professional approach and close relationships with the players were much valued. We trust he will go on to enjoy a successful future as a coach and we wish him the very best."
