DANIELS: ANOTHER CHANCE TO GIVE OUR BEST FOR 90 PLUS MINUTES
15 January 2021

Maritzburg United have been drawn at home against GladAfrica league club Sekhukhune United in the 2021 Nedbank Cup round of 32.
aritzburg United defender Clayton Daniels is not looking at recent results but focusing purely on giving everything in Sunday's DStv Premiership showdown with AmaZulu.
Asked whether the derby factor will come into play or whether Maritzburg can make it a hat-trick of wins in the league, Daniels spoke of the importance to maintain the right kind of focus.
"I'm happy with the guys that we've picked up six points, but it's still a long way to go," said the experienced centre-back.

"We are not putting too much things like a derby in our minds. It's another game, another opportunity to give our best for 90 plus minutes - just to work hard and follow instructions and hopefully we can be successful"
Daniels' arrival at the Team of Choice this month has coincided with an upturn in results, and he says he's pleased that he chose to come to Pietermaritzburg.
"I think there's a very good environment, the guys are very professional in terms of the technical team, physios and the gym people and the coaches. I'm happy to be here," the Cape Town-born player said.
"I'm very happy with my decision to come here. I had some offers but because I know some of the players here and I know the coach and he trusted me to come - it was an easy decision when he called me. I'm happy to work with him, I know his work ethic," he continued.
"Every day is another day to learn and to progress and to become better as a club and as a team.”
Meanwhile another new arrival, Travis Graham, has also been settling in well. He's optimistic that Maritzburg can bring joy to their supporters on Sunday. While no spectators will be allowed, the game will be televised on SuperSport and there will be updates on our social media channels.
"Even before I joined the club the team was playing good, unfortunately results didn't come our way," Graham said.
"I think once we got that first win, we got that confidence that we can do it.
"Derbies are very special. Unfortunately the fans won’t be there. But for us we just want to go there and fight for the three points, just continue this form that we are in and hopefully we can make the Blue Army proud," the midfielder added.

Sunday's match takes place at the Kings Park Stadium and kick off is set for 3.30pm.
Head-to-head
In 24 previous matches against AmaZulu, Maritzburg have won 11, drawn nine and lost four. Last season's league derbies ended in a 1-0 home win for United and a 0-0 draw away in Durban.
