The dates and venues for the Last 32 fixtures will be announced shortly by the Premier Soccer League.
It will be a challenging encounter against rookie Absa Premiership side Stellenbosch, who have blown hot and cold this season.
In a league match at Athlone earlier this season, the Team of Choice drew 0-0 with Steve Barker’s side; the only previous occasion the two clubs have met.
Having made it all the way to the final in the Nedbank Cup in 2018, United endured disappointment in last season’s Nedbank Cup when they were knocked out at the Last 32 stage by Witbank Spurs on penalties, following a 2-2 draw.
This season however Maritzburg’s cup pedigree was again enhanced when they made it to the final of the Telkom Knockout before being edged out 2-1 by Mamelodi Sundowns.
