TEAM OF CHOICE CONFIRM DEADLINE DAY TRANSFER BUSINESS
15 February 2021
Maritzburg United are pleased to announce the signing of exciting young Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Keletso Sifama on loan for the rest of the season.
The 18-year-old Sifama is expected to have a bright future at Chiefs and is well known to Maritzburg United head coach Ernst Middendorp from his spell at Amakhosi.
He joins on loan until June and will be looking to make a big impact.
Sifama becomes the third player to join the Team of Choice in the mid-season transfer window, following the signing of German goalkeeper Marcel Engelhardt and Dusan Stevic, a defender from Serbia.
United have also promoted three young players from the Multichoice Diski Challenge (MDC) squad - Asanda Buthelezi, Muzomuhle Ngwane and Phiwayinkosi Zuma. Ngwane is a central defender while Buthelezi and Zuma operate in midfield.
Meanwhile, Keagan Buchanan and Pogiso Sanoka have parted ways with Maritzburg United by mutual consent.
"We would like to thanks Pogiso and Keagan for their services to the club over the past couple of seasons," said Team of Choice chairman Farook Kadodia.
"They both made valuable contributions for which we are grateful. We wish both players all the best for the future careers."
