KEWUTI: I'LL BRING FIGHTING SPIRIT AND WINNING MENTALITY
2 August 2021
New midfield recruit Zukile Kewuti has ensured the Maritzburg United supporters that he'll be giving his all for the Team of Choice's cause this season.
Kewuti is among a handful of new signings Maritzburg have made ahead of the 2021/ 22 season, the other new men being Alfred Ndengane, Lifa Hlongwane, Rowan Human, Richard Zumah and Brandon Theron.
Kewuti last played at AmaZulu, where he made a significant impact on the Durban team in the second half of last season after joining from Cape Town City on loan.
Having now made the move from the coast into the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, the 26-year-old is keen to add value to Maritzburg United by bringing bite and graft to the midfield department.
“First of all I would like to thank the team and the coach for believing in me and signing me," Kewuti said.
“Of course I looked at the stats of the last season. I want to improve myself and as a team, to be in the highest possible position, not fighting for relegation.
“I’ll bring a fighting spirit and a winning mentality. I want to install that winning mentality - when I play I want nothing but a win," the Cape Town-born central midfielder stated.
“I’m looking forward to working with coach Ernst Middendorp. He explained to me his philosophy of playing, I’m willing to work, I’m willing to learn, I’m willing to grind, to do what the coach needs me to do."
