Maritzburg United will be hoping to return to winning ways when they square off against AmaZulu FC in a DStv Premiership encounter on Saturday afternoon at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
The KwaZulu-Natal derby will kick off at 15h00 and it will be live on SuperSport Channel 202.
United shared the spoils in a 1-all draw against Swallows on Tuesday evening at Harry Gwala Stadium.
Team of Choice defender Steven Pereira says it’s been a productive week in the training field for the PMB side.
"The preparations are going very well," Pereira told the club website.
"We are recovering from our last match which was very tough against Swallows FC. And now we have to make sure we are ready for our next match," he added.
Maritzburg United have amassed 23 points in 24 league matches and occupy position number 12 on the DStv Premiership table.
"If we stick to our plan and do what we have to do, it will give us a chance. We have to start well, and be aggressive from the beginning. If we support each we can get a victory," Pereira explained.
The international defender is hoping to appear in his second derby since his arrival in the Team of Choice.
"Derbies are special games and I really enjoy to play in them especially now since the fans have returned to stadiums. These games are very special and it's an honour for me to play in them and I will give my 100%." he promised.
Pereira, who was on international duty for his country Cape Verde during the recent international FIFA break, shared a special message with the Team of Choice fans:
"Maritzburg United fans, Blue Army, I just want to say thank you so much for supporting us. Thank you for being there for us. It really feels good that we have your back. We have to believe and be together because everybody needs each other right now. We will give 100% against AmaZulu on Saturday, " Pereira concluded.
