KZN DERBY vs ROYAL AM ENDS IN DISAPPOINTMENT

Maritzburg United suffered a 1-0 defeat to Royal AM in a DStv KwaZulu-Natal derby played at the Chatsworth Stadium on Wednesday evening.
The evening didn't start well for United as the home side were in front on nine minutes when Lesotho international Motebang Sera netted.
Karim Kimvuidi looked to hit back for Maritzburg in the 18th minute but sent his free kick over the bar, before Team of Choice keeper King Ndlovu did very well to make a save at the other end.
Genino Palace went close for Maritzburg in the 44th minute with a shot outside the box that flew over the bar with the goalkeeper was off his line.
After the interval the teams traded chances through Thabo Matlaba for Royal AM and Bongani Sam for United, but the scoreline remained unchanged.
Ndlovu made another fine save to deny Mxolisi Macuphu and then with five minutes to go, midfielder Lantshene Phalane shot over for the Durban side.
