ARROWS INFLICT DERBY LOSS ON MARITZBURG UNITED
28 October 2022
Maritzburg United went down 2-0 to Golden Arrows in Friday night's DStv Premiership KwaZulu-Natal derby at the Harry Gwala Stadium.
Both goals came from Ryan Moon headers, in the 28th and 44th minutes.
It was a frustrating 90 minutes for the Team of Choice on a rainy evening as they had enjoyed good ball possesion and had some decent chances to score, but couldn't find the back of the net.
Among those who came close for Maritzburg was Reagan van der Ross, who after some neat skill in the opening phase of the game, was denied by a fine save from Arrows keeper Sifiso Mlungwana.
Mlungwana also saved a second half header from Travis Graham, there was a shot fired wide by Rowan Human after a nice bit of build-up play, while Friday Samu had a couple of efforts on goal as well.
The Team of Choice return after the Fifa World Cup break with a home clash against TS Galaxy on December 30.
